# Chat

De *Chat* tool ![](/files/-LH9DTDZvUDis1f51Kiz) is een instant messaging-tool waarmee gebruikers in een cursus ideeën, vragen en antwoorden kunnen uitwisselen in "leven", schriftelijke conversaties.

Hoewel het misschien nogal traag lijkt (drie seconden per bericht) en beperkt in functies tot de huidige online gebruikers, het grote voordeel van deze tool ten opzichte van b.v. *Skype, Facebook* chat-tools is het werkt als onderdeel van het platform en, als zodanig vereist geen externe tool, gegarandeerd werken op alle computers met de mogelijkheid om Chamilo te gebruiken.

Als gebruikers hun afbeelding hebben geconfigureerd op het tabblad *Sociaal netwerk* (of *Profile*), wordt deze naast hun naam weergegeven. Het is aan de docent om eerdere berichten te verwijderen wanneer hij dit nodig acht.
