# Quote a previous message

Inside a thread, within a forum, it is often most practical to be able to quote a whole or part of a message. This is the aim of this operation, triggered by the double quote icon. The ![](/files/-LioWOc8rBJfmN6Vwo-w) answer will be accompanied by the related message to which it is making reference (it will appear in another color in your answer). You can compose a comment etc. as well as edit the quoted text directly.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.chamilo.org/1.11.x/teacher-guide/communication__forums/quote_a_previous_message.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
