# Portal Customization

Customize how your Chamilo platform looks and what information is displayed to users.

## Platform Identity

Configure the basic identity of your portal:

* **Platform name** — The name shown in the browser title and throughout the interface
* **Institution name** — Your organization's name
* **Institution URL** — A link to your organization's website
* **Platform logo** — Upload your organization's logo (displayed in the top bar)
* **Favicon** — The small icon shown in browser tabs

## Homepage Content

Customize what users see on the home page:

* **System announcements** — Post announcements visible to all users on the home page
* **Custom pages** — Create static content pages accessible from the home page
* **Featured courses** — Control whether featured courses are shown on the home page

## Footer

Configure the platform footer:

* **Footer text** — Custom text displayed at the bottom of every page
* **Copyright notice** — Your organization's copyright statement

## Tips

* **Keep the homepage clean** — Too much content on the homepage can be overwhelming. Focus on essential announcements and course access.
* **Update regularly** — Keep system announcements current and remove outdated ones
* **Upload a high-quality logo** — The logo is one of the most visible branding elements. Use a crisp, appropriately sized image.
