# Platform

The **Platform management** block on the administration dashboard groups portal-wide configuration and communication tools — everything from the full settings panel to languages, public announcements, the global calendar, and the CMS-like Pages system that builds parts of your portal's public-facing content.

## Accessing the Platform Block

From the administration panel, the **Platform management** block appears alongside the other dashboard blocks. Click any of its links to open the corresponding tool.

## What's in the Block

* [**Platform Settings**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform-settings.md) — The full configuration settings panel (portal, courses, sessions, users, security, and more). This block's "Configuration settings" link is simply the entry point into that separate chapter.
* [**Languages**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform/languages.md) — Choose which interface languages are available to users, and set the platform default
* [**Portal News**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform/portal-news.md) — Platform-wide announcements (system announcements), scheduled and targeted by role
* [**Global Agenda**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform/global-agenda.md) — Platform-wide calendar events, visible to every user regardless of course or session
* [**Pages**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform/pages.md) — The CMS-like tool behind your portal's homepage, footer, and other public content blocks, including the registration page's intro text
* [**Platform Tools**](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/platform/platform-tools.md) — Extra fields, mail templates, contact form categories, and a few smaller, conditionally-shown items
* **Configure multiple access URL** — Covered in [Access URLs](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/multi-url/access-urls.md), under Multi-URL
* **External tools (LTI)** — Covered in [LTI 1.3](/3.x/administration-guide/admin-guide/integrations/lti.md), under Integrations
