Plugins

Beyond the tools built into Chamilo, your platform administrator can install and enable plugins — optional features that add new tools, settings, or behavior to your courses. Plugins are off by default; each one only appears once your administrator has turned it on, and some only take effect after you also enable them for a specific course.

This section documents the plugins that change something a teacher interacts with directly. If you don't see a plugin described here in your own courses, it likely isn't enabled on your platform — ask your administrator.

Assessment & Testing

  • Exercise Focused — Detect when a student leaves the exam window during a test, with an on-screen warning and optional auto-submit

  • Exercise Monitoring — Capture webcam photos of a student and their ID during a monitored test attempt

  • Exercise Signature — Require students to sign electronically after completing a test

  • Question Options Evaluation — Apply a negative-marking (penalty) scoring formula to a test instead of Chamilo's default scoring

  • Positioning — Compare a learner's before/after scores on an initial and a final test with a radar chart

  • Test to PDF — Export a test's questions and/or answers to a printable PDF

Content & Authoring

  • C-Studio Content Editor — Build interactive learning path pages (quizzes, drag-and-drop, hotspot images, and more) with a visual editor, without writing HTML

  • H5P Import — Upload H5P interactive-content packages into a course or a learning path

  • ONLYOFFICE — Create and co-edit real Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents from the Documents tool; already covered in Documents

Communication & Conferencing

  • Videoconferencing (BigBlueButton) and Zoom Videoconferencing — Run live video sessions from your course; covered in Video Conferencing

  • Notify in Course Home — Show a one-time popup notice to everyone who visits your course homepage

Certificates & Compliance

  • Custom Certificate — Replace the standard gradebook certificate with your own design, logos, and signatures

  • Course Legal Agreement — Require students to accept a terms/legal notice before accessing your course

Tracking & Follow-up

  • Student Follow-up — Keep private or shared timestamped notes about a learner's progress and difficulties

  • Learning Calendar — Plan busy/exam/free days for learners in blended or apprenticeship-style courses

  • Teacher Notes — Keep private notes about specific learners in a course, visible only to the teaching team

Integrations

  • IMS/LTI Client — Launch an external tool or content provider from inside your course

  • LTI 1.3 Advantage Provider — Let an external LMS launch one of your exercises or learning paths (admin-configured, nothing for teachers to set up)
