The Course Legal Agreement plugin requires students to accept a terms/legal notice before they can access your course — useful for consent forms, usage policies, or any notice you need learners to formally agree to.
Enabling the plugin platform-wide doesn't do anything by itself — you still need to switch it on for each course where you want it:
Open your course's Settings
In the course access section, check Enable legal terms
This adds a Course legal agreement tool to your course.
Open the Course legal agreement tool to:
Write the notice text (rich text editor)
Optionally attach a downloadable file
Choose what happens on save: Do not send notification, Notify all users by email, or Notify all users by email and send them the attachment
The tool's User list shows every student and whether they've accepted the agreement (via the web or by email), with actions to resend the agreement link or remove a user's recorded acceptance.
Set the course to Private — This plugin is meant to gate access; a Public or Open course visibility works against that intent
Update deliberately — Changing the agreement text doesn't automatically invalidate prior acceptances; use Remove all previous user agreements if you need everyone to accept the new version
Keep the notice short — A long legal text is more likely to be skimmed than read; link out to a full policy document if you have one
