Exercise Focused

Exercise Focused is an anti-cheating aid for exams. If a student's browser loses focus during a flagged test — switching to another tab or window — Chamilo shows a full-screen warning telling them to return, and can automatically submit their attempt if they don't.

Flagging a Test

Open the test's settings and check the Exercise Focused option. Once flagged, every attempt on that test is monitored for focus loss, and each event is logged.

What Students See

When a monitored student leaves the exam window, an overlay appears telling them to return and complete the test. Depending on how your administrator has configured the plugin, this can also start a countdown that auto-submits the attempt, and/or auto-submit after a set number of focus-loss events.

Reviewing Results

A flagged test gets a reporting icon opening a three-tab report:

• A summary by attempt

• A filterable, searchable view with Excel export

• A random-sampling tab for spot-checking attempts

Tips

• The behavior itself is platform-wide — As a teacher, you only choose which tests are flagged; the warning countdown length and the number of allowed focus-loss events before auto-submit are set once by your administrator

• Tell students in advance — Let learners know a test is monitored this way before they start, so a browser notification or an accidental click doesn't cost them their attempt

• It only covers the standard test-taking screen — If your platform delivers tests through a different route, focus-loss detection may not apply there
