Notify in Course Home

Notify in Course Home Notify in Course Home lets you show a popup notice to everyone who visits your course homepage — useful for an announcement, a required-reading notice, or a "click here to continue" gate.

Setting a Notification

Once enabled, your course's Settings Settings gains a Set one notification on home page button. It opens a form where you write the notice (rich text) and optionally set an Expiration link.

  • With an expiration link — The popup shows a button pointing to that link and keeps reappearing until a learner clicks it

  • Without one — The notice reappears to every visitor, every time they open the course home page

Use Delete notification on course home page to remove it.

Tips

  • Only one notice per course — Creating a new one replaces whatever was there before; there's no way to queue several

  • Preview your formatting — The notice is shown as raw HTML in a popup, so check that rich text renders the way you expect before publishing it

  • Use the expiration link for anything time-sensitive — Without it, the same notice keeps popping up indefinitely, which can get repetitive for returning learners
