Teacher Notes

Teacher Notes gives your course's teaching team a private notebook for jotting notes about specific learners — progress observations, reminders, anything you'd rather not put in a public tool. Students never see this tool or its contents.

Not to be confused with the Notebook tool — that one is a personal notebook for learners; Teacher Notes is a separate, teacher-only tool.

Accessing the Tool

Once enabled, a Teacher notes tool appears on your course homepage, available to teachers and course admins (and DRH).

Using It

• Filter notes by student, or view All students

• Add new note in my personal notebook, optionally linking it to a specific learner

• Edit or delete your own notes

• Sort notes by creation date, update date, or title

Tips

• Link notes to a learner when relevant — Notes without an assigned student are easy to lose track of; tie a note to a learner whenever it's about them specifically

• Coordinate with co-teachers — Since the notebook is shared across the teaching team, agree on a light convention (e.g. sign off with your name) so notes stay easy to attribute
