Global Agenda

The Global Agenda is the same calendar tool used for course and personal agendas, opened in a platform-wide mode: events created here have no course or session attached, which is exactly what makes them visible to every logged-in user rather than just a course or session's members.

Accessing the Global Agenda

From the administration panel, click Platform > Global agenda.

How It Differs from Course and Session Agendas

A calendar event's scope comes from whether it's linked to a course or session resource:

  • Course/session events stay restricted to that course's or session's enrolled members

  • Global events have no such link, so any logged-in user can see them

Aside from that scoping difference, global events support the same features as course events: recurrence (repeat on a schedule), file attachments, and reminders.

Use Cases

Use the Global Agenda for platform-wide dates that aren't tied to any specific course — maintenance windows, organization-wide deadlines, holidays, or company-wide events — rather than duplicating the same event across every course's agenda.
