# Student Guide

Welcome to the Chamilo 3.0 Student Guide. This guide is designed for learners — anyone taking courses through a Chamilo platform, whether as part of a school, a company training program, or an open online course.

Whether this is your first time on Chamilo or you are already enrolled in several courses, this guide will help you get around, join courses, and keep your account secure.

## What You Can Do as a Student

As a learner in Chamilo, you can:

* **Create an account** (if your platform allows self-registration) and sign in
* **Join courses** — through a public catalog, an invitation, or enrollment by an administrator or teacher
* **Work through course tools** — read documents, follow learning paths, take exercises, submit assignments, and more
* **Communicate** — use forums, chat, and groups to interact with teachers and other learners
* **Track your own progress** — see your scores, completion status, and certificates
* **Get help from an AI Tutor**, if your platform has enabled it
* **Keep your account secure** — reset a forgotten password and enable two-factor authentication

## How This Guide Is Organized

1. **Getting Started** — Create your account (or log in), and understand the general interface
2. **Courses** — Subscribe to a course, work through its tools (learning paths, tests, assignments, forum, chat), and use the AI Tutor
3. **Inbox** — Send and receive private messages with other platform users
4. **Social Network** — Connect with other users, if your administrator has enabled this feature
5. **My Progress** — Get a quick overview of your own activity and results across all your courses
6. **Account and Security** — Reset your password, enable two-factor authentication, and understand CAPTCHA

This guide covers the essentials to get you started. It will grow to cover more topics over time.

Let's get started.
