Account and Registration

I don't see a "Sign up" link on the login page. How do I get an account?

Self-registration may be disabled on your platform. Ask your institution or platform administrator to create an account for you, or ask a teacher for a course invitation link, which lets you register even when general self-registration is closed.

Can I register as a teacher?

Only if your administrator has specifically enabled that option. By default, the public registration form has no way to request a teacher role — every self-registered account is a learner account. Ask your administrator if you need a teacher account.

I never received my registration or password-reset e-mail. What now?

Check your spam folder first. If it's still not there, contact your platform administrator — they can verify your e-mail address on file and, if needed, act on your account directly.

Courses

I can't find a course I know exists. Why?

It may not be open for self-enrollment, or you may not have been subscribed to it yet. Check Explore more courses in the sidebar, and if it's not listed there either, ask the teacher or your administrator to enroll you.

A tool is missing from my course. Where did it go?

Your teacher controls which tools are visible to learners in each course, and can hide or disable individual tools. If you expect a tool that isn't there, ask your teacher — it may be intentionally hidden, or disabled at the platform level.

Why can't I see the Reporting tool inside my course?

The in-course "Reporting" tool that tracks the whole class is teacher-only. Your own progress and certificates are always available from the Reporting link in the main sidebar instead, and from the Course progress and Assessments tools inside the course.

Password and Security

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Click Forgot your password? on the login page and follow the instructions. See Resetting Your Password.

I lost access to my authenticator app for two-factor authentication. What now?

Chamilo doesn't generate backup codes for 2FA — contact your platform administrator, who can disable 2FA on your account so you can sign in again.

Why am I being asked to solve a CAPTCHA?

Your administrator has enabled CAPTCHA to protect the login, registration, and lost-password forms from automated abuse. See CAPTCHA.

AI Tutor

Why don't I see the AI Tutor button?

It requires two separate settings to be enabled: one at the platform level (by your administrator) and one at the course level (by your teacher). If either is off, the AI Tutor won't appear for that course.

Why is the AI Tutor unavailable while I'm taking a test?

It's automatically disabled during exercises and assignments, to keep assessments fair.

Technical Issues

Can I use Chamilo on my phone?

Yes. Chamilo 3.0 has a responsive interface that adapts to phones, tablets, and computers using any modern web browser.

What browsers are supported?

All major modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience, use the latest version of your browser.
