Assessment

Assignment
A task where learners submit files or text for teacher review and grading. Also known as "student publication" or "work".
Auto-launch
A feature that automatically opens a specific tool when a learner enters a course.
Certificate
A document automatically generated when a learner meets the minimum score defined in the gradebook.
Course
A container for learning content and tools. A course can include documents, exercises, forums, learning paths, and more.
Course coach
A teacher role specific to sessions. A course coach manages one course within a session.
Disk quota
The maximum storage space allocated to a course for uploaded files.
Enrollment
The process of registering a user in a course or session, giving them access to its content. Also known as "subscription".
Exercise
A quiz or test containing one or more questions. Also referred to as a "test" in some contexts.
Forum
A discussion tool with threaded conversations organized into categories and topics.
Gradebook
A tool that aggregates scores from exercises, assignments, and other activities into a unified grade for each learner.
Learning path
A structured sequence of learning activities (documents, exercises, links) that learners follow in a defined order, optionally with prerequisites.
LTI
Learning Tools Interoperability — a standard that allows external learning tools to be embedded within Chamilo.
SCORM
Sharable Content Object Reference Model — a standard for e-learning content packages. Chamilo can import and play SCORM packages within learning paths.
Session
A time-bound edition of one or more courses assigned to a specific group of learners. Sessions allow reusing the same course content for different cohorts.
Session coach
A supervisory role that oversees all courses within a session.
Skill
A competency that can be linked to gradebook achievements. When a learner earns a certificate, associated skills are validated.
Survey
A questionnaire tool for collecting feedback, with various question types and anonymous response options.
Visibility
A setting that controls whether a tool, document, or activity is visible to learners. Teachers can always see hidden items.
