Your Profile

Your profile in Chamilo contains your personal information and preferences. Other users on the platform can see parts of your profile depending on your visibility settings.

Profile Information

Your profile page might show (depending on configuration):

  • Avatar — Your profile picture. Click Edit profile to change it.

  • Full name — Your first and last name as registered on the platform.

  • Email — Your email address. Other users can click it to send you a message within Chamilo.

  • Language — Your preferred language.

  • Additional fields — Depending on your platform's configuration, you may see fields such as phone number, Skype handle, LinkedIn profile link, or custom fields defined by your administrator.

Editing Your Profile

To update your profile information, click Edit profile. Here you can:

  • Change your name, email, and password

  • Upload or change your avatar/picture

  • Update your preferred language

  • Fill in additional profile fields (Skype, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Configure notification preferences

To change your password, click Change Password. For security reasons, you will need to give your current password and your new password twice.

If your administrator has enabled the two-factor authentication option (2fa_enable) for the platform, your profile will let you turn on 2FA for your own account using a TOTP authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.). Once enabled, the login flow will ask for the time-based 6-digit code in addition to your password.

Personal Data

Under Social network > Personal Data, you can review all the information Chamilo stores about you. This section includes:

  • A summary of all data collected, organized by category

  • If enabled by your organization, your acceptance status for the platform's Terms and Conditions

  • If enabled by your organization, an option to withdraw your consent or delete account, which will trigger an account deletion request that your administrator will process

This feature is provided to comply with data protection regulations. Contact your administrator if you have questions about how your data is handled.
